Dry risers are an essential part of any high-rise building's fire safety system. Usually found in properties over 18m tall, they consist of a network of pipes that allow for water to be delivered to upper floors in the event of a fire. Dry risers are usually positioned in a staircase, and feature an inlet at ground level that can be used by emergency services to pump water up the building.
