An update to highlight FireRite’s achievements this year, as well the latest news, updates and job vacancies.
Back to News

It goes without saying that 2020 has been a year like no other. The COVID-19 Pandemic has changed everyday life as we know it and we have all faced unprecedented challenges.

Our entire business is focused on safety, which has always been our priority even before the pandemic began. However, the risks and dangers of fire have existed for thousands of years, but COVID-19 is a brand-new challenge and the entire world has had to quickly adapt.

Throughout this year and during the lockdown, FireRite has continued to support our customers by adapting our services, increasing our digital service offering and ensuring that our current working practices remain safe for our clients and our staff.

Of course, the risk of fire remains with or without the presence of COVID-19 and there is never a good time to be complacent.

New office in Swansea

Firerite has opened its first satellite office in the West region.

Our new base in Swansea will enhance our Customer service with additional stock to enable first time fixes and a reduction in our Carbon footprint. You will see our signage going up shortly in St. Luke’s Court on Winch Wen Industrial Estate.

This marks an exciting time in our development and supports our Business strategy ahead of where we predicted.

New Socially Distanced Fire Safety Training

We are now offering all our training sessions with social distancing and other precautions in place. Since the main lockdown restrictions were eased in Wales, we’ve successfully held several fire safety courses with organisations.

Fire safety training is a legal requirement in England & Wales. It is still your responsibility to ensure that you’re meeting legislative guidelines relating to fire safety training. Thanks to our carefully planned socially distant training sessions, this is possible.

We have further enhanced our Training capabilities by employing several staff from the dissolved Rescue 365.

Their technical staff along with Relationship Manager Jane Hopkins have brought a wealth of experience to our Team. This has enabled a smooth transition of many Rescue 365` clients to seamlessly transition across to Firerite with the same personnel, thus saving jobs and allowing the valued customer to remain compliant but also having the enhanced capabilities of Firerite of one contact for all their fire safety requirements.

New Virtual Fire Risk Assessments

In addition to training, FireRite also offer a virtual fire risk assessment tool for care homes and other businesses who need one.

Understandably, access to premises can be heavily restricted to protect staff and residents/occupants, especially in care home environments where the risk of infection is extremely dangerous.

With the use of video conferencing technology, our experienced Fire Safety Consultants can complete an interim risk assessment virtually. We offer this service in 3 packages to suit different budgets and have successfully completed dozens of virtual risk assessments since we launched the service.

New Contract award

Firerite have been awarded a 3+1+1 Contract to deliver the fire alarm, emergency lighting, AOV & EVCS Planned and Reactive maintenance for the largest Residential Social Landlord (RSL) in Wales.

Pobl put a tender out that the Firerite Management Team identified as a significant Contract to which we wanted to be part of.

The Business Development Team put a robust submission together based on years of maintenance experience within the Housing Sector and are proud to have Won and Partner with Pobl to achieve their roadmap to compliance.

Gareth Selway (Director) has commented “To work with the largest RSL In Wales is a reassurance that we are delivering excellence within the fire safety industry, Pobl have entrusted us with their stock with a confidence that we will deliver and provide safety for their staff, tenants and workforce.

The culture, development and experience from our Team is a great journey to be involved with that enables Contracts of this nature to be materialised”.

Renewed Certification

Following a successful full audit on 15th July 2020, FireRite have again maintained the highest standard Gold approval from The National Security Inspectorate (NSI)

This includes:

  • Life Safety Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2015
  • NSI Quality Schedule FRAQS 123 and FSQS 121
  • Industry-recognised BAFE Scheme Document SP 205 Part 1: “Life Safety Fire Risk Assessments”

This certification scheme is UKAS accredited which provides an assurance of the competence, impartiality and integrity of conformity assessment bodies.

The scheme is designed to give confidence in the quality and relevance of the services being provided and to give assurance that fire risk assessments are carried out in accordance with the appropriate standards.
