Role Summary
As a Compartmentation Surveyor, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining fire safety integrity across a range of sites. Your work will include:
- Carrying out detailed surveys of buildings to assess the integrity of fire compartments and identify any areas of non-compliance.
- Documenting findings clearly and work closely with our project managers, fire engineers, and clients to develop practical, compliant remedial solutions.
- Representing Firerite with professionalism and pride, ensuring client satisfaction at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake compartmentation and passive fire protection surveys in line with current fire safety standards and regulations (e.g., Approved Document B, BS 9999, and BS 476).
- Identify and record breaches to fire compartments, penetrations, and inadequate fire-stopping.
- Produce clear, comprehensive survey reports with photographic evidence and recommendations.
- Liaise with clients and site teams to advise on appropriate remedial measures.
- Support project delivery by ensuring documentation aligns with company quality standards.
- Maintain a strong understanding of passive fire protection materials and installation methods.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in compartmentation surveying or passive fire protection.
- Strong knowledge of building construction and fire compartmentation principles.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and methodical working approach.
- Full UK driving licence (role involves site visits).
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications or training in passive fire protection (e.g. FDIS, IFSM, IFE, or ASFP Level 2/3) are highly desirable
- FIRAS certification.
