Job Title: Fire Stopping/Plastering Engineer
Location: UK wide - From time to time, you may be required to work away from home for short periods, including overnight stays. This, along with flexibility in working hours due to unforeseen site issues, is considered an essential part of the role.
Reports To: Passive Department Manager
Department: Passive Fire Department
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £27,000.00

Role Summary

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Fire Stopping/Plastering Engineer to join our growing fire protection team. This is a hands-on, entry-level role ideal for someone with a background in construction, joinery, or general maintenance who is looking to build a career in fire safety and passive fire protection.

As a trainee, you will learn how to install, maintain, and inspect fire compartmentation systems in line with industry standards and legal requirements, working alongside experienced installers on residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

Job Title –Fire Stopping/Plastering Engineer

Job role (to include, not exclusive to):-

  • Installation of all passive fire products
  • Working in accordance with RAMS, H&S requirements
  • Plastering works as required
  • Drylining works as required
  • Working as part of a team or as an individual
  • Reading site plans
  • Working in flats/housing/care homes/commercial premises to include working in confined spaces
  • To ensure all work is carried out to a standard that satisfies the customer, company and accreditations (FIRAS)
  • To consistently achieve agreed performance targets
  • To sell and promote all FireRite services to new and existing customers
  • To keep the Passive Fire Protection Manager up to date on progress or potential delays

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic understanding of tools and measurements
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Full driving licence

Qualifications & Experience (Desirable but Not Essential)

  • NVQ level 2 in Passive Fire Protection preferred
  • Firas card preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in fire barrier systems i.e. Rockwell Curtains preferred
  • Previous experience in ablative batt work preferred
  • Willingness to learn related software on PDA
  • Good communication skills
  • The applicant should be able to manage his own diary, be punctual, polite and keen to work as part of a busy fire safety team.
