Position: Junior Estimator

A family run business formed in 1999, we are a market leader in Wales and the West with a growing number of clients throughout the UK, over 4200 to date, from both the public and private sector.  The main business activities of our organisation are planned preventative maintenance contracts, to which we also provide a reactive service 24 hours, 356 days per year for all of the below:

  • Fire Detection and Alarm Systems
  • Nurse Call Systems
  • Access Control Systems
  • CCTV Systems
  • Escape Lighting Systems
  • Portable Appliance Testing

  • Portable Fire Fighting Equipment
  • Suppression Systems
  • Dry Risers
  • Passive Fire Protection/Compartmentation
  • Sign Surveys
  • Evacuation Aids

We are currently seeking to recruit a junior estimator to cover the Wales & South West region. There may be an occasional requirement to work further afield as the workload dictates.

The role of Junior Estimator will include:

  • Helping with bids for new contracts
  • Compile tender documentation for subcontractor enquires
  • Management of subcontractor enquiries
  • Assessment of customer requirements and helping to ensure these are met through cost-effective solutions
  • Arranging site surveys
  • Researching materials, equipment, transport and labour costs
  • Helping plan job timescales
  • Ordering materials & stock control
  • Monitoring the stages of a project to make sure costs are kept in line with forecasts
  • Upload clients tender documentation to Service Management Software
  • Ensure ISO9001 NSI GOLD compliance
  • To act in a safe manner in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and requirements
  • Building and maintaining customer and colleague relationships


Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience of estimating/job costing
  • Excellent computer (including MS Office) skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • We would require candidate to have A to C level GCSC Maths and English at a minimum (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to bring value to a team
  • Presentable and good time keeping
  • Enthusiastic and intuitive


  • Salary dependent on experience
  • 23 days holiday (excl bank holidays)
