Role Summary
To be part of our Passive Fire Protection Department, completing all types of painting and decorating activities both internally and externally, providing remedial works in order to complete projects to the customer or client satisfaction as directed by your line manager.
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out all types of painting and decorating work both internally and externally, providing remedial work in order to complete projects to the customer or client satisfaction as directed by your line manager.
- Ensure all painting and decorating work completed are of a high quality, are compliant and adhere to painting and decorating standards and meet all legislatory and H&S and regulatory standards.
- Evaluate the size of the area to be painted and providing an estimate on time and resources required (including labour and materials)
- Plan and organise work in an economical and effective manner, making the most efficient use of your available time, in accordance with specified company priority response times.
- To operate within a scheduled appointment system including liaison with customers and department members in order to effectively undertake works.
- Undertake individual or corporate training and development in association with your role and duties.
- Be aware of risk assessments and method statements relating to own area of work and to work in safe manner taking account other people’s health and wellbeing.
- Ensure the observance of all statutory and local safety, health and environmental precautions and report immediately any accidents or breaches of safety procedures to your line manager in accordance with the company policies.
- Erecting or installing scaffold towers, work platforms and stepladders and other support structures
Person Specification
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2
- PASMA standard tower certification
- IPAF mobile boom, mobile vertical certification
- Qualified in all aspects of painting and decorating both internal and external
- Ability to interpret workload and update work planners with any changes to agreed timescales
- Previous experience as a qualified Painter & Decorator
- Good eye for detail and commitment to high quality outcomes.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to various sites.
Desirable:
- Experience of service delivery to customers, putting the customer first and communication in a polite clear manner
- Punctual, polite, and enthusiastic about contributing to a busy and professional fire safety team.
