Role Summary
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Trainee Compartmentation Surveyor to join our growing fire protection team. This is a hands-on, entry-level role ideal for someone who is looking to build a career in fire safety and passive fire protection.
As a Trainee Compartmentation Surveyor, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining fire safety integrity across a range of sites. You will learn how to:
- Carry out detailed surveys of buildings to assess the integrity of fire compartments and identify any areas of non-compliance.
- Document findings clearly and work closely with our project managers, fire engineers, and clients to develop practical, compliant remedial solutions.
- Represent Firerite with professionalism and pride, ensuring client satisfaction at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with fire compartmentation surveys
- Assist the Passive team in installing passive fire products
- Learn how to read site plans
- Working in flats/housing/care homes/commercial premises to include working in confined spaces
- Attend sites for surveys and meetings
- To consistently achieve agreed performance targets
- To sell and promote all of Fire-rite’s services to new and existing customers
- To keep the Passive Fire Protection Manager up to date on progress or potential delays
Key Skills & Attributes
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic understanding of tools and measurements
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Punctual and dependable
- Valid UK driving licence preferred
Qualifications & Experience (Desirable but Not Essential)
- GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Basic experience in construction, carpentry, or general building maintenance
- CSCS card (or willingness to obtain)
