Fire Alarm Systems

Fire detection and alarm systems are designed to detect fires early in their development, ensuring time will be available for the safe evacuation of occupants. Premises protected by a fire alarm system can be remotely monitored by FireRite’s alarm receiving centre (ARC) around the clock - 24/7

Emergency Escape Lighting

Emergency escape lighting is part of the fire safety provision of a building. Every building will have its own specific requirements in respect of emergency escape illumination, the role of which is to take over from the normal lighting provision in the event of a power or circuit failure.

Disabled Refuge

A fixed, monitored and maintained, bi-directional, full duplex voice communication system, to assist the evacuation of disabled or mobility impaired people and enhance fire fighters communication in an emergency.

Emergency Voice Communication System

An EVCS is a fixed, secure, bi-directional, full duplex voice communication system to assist fire fighters during emergencies in high rise buildings or large sites, where radio communication cannot be guaranteed to work owing to interference from the fire corona.

Public Address Voice Alarm

Whether for making announcements or providing public information and automatic alarm/emergency messages, Public Address (PA) (often known as tannoy systems) and Voice Alarm (VA) systems provide a quick and simple means of direct communication. This has become increasingly popular for providing clear pre-recorded emergency messages. Installed with the safety of staff and the general public as a key function, our announcement systems assist in the effective evacuation of an area or building during a fire, bomb alert or other emergency.

Portable Fire Extinguishers

Portable fire extinguishers are designed to tackle specific types of fire. There are six different classes of fire and several different types of fire extinguishers, our training provides staff with the knowledge of what extinguisher to use, as well as when and where to use it. Portable fire extinguishers are an essential part of your fire safety strategy.

Smoke Ventilation/Automatic Opening Vent

The purpose of smoke ventilation/automatic opening ventilation systems is to lead smoke and heat out of a burning building, whilst keeping escape corridors and stairs free of smoke, for the escape of the building’s occupants and to allow access for fire fighters.

Fire Hydrant Testing & Maintenance

Fire hydrants are an integral part of fire safety and are used by the fire brigade to access water from the local mains supply. Underground fire hydrants require regular inspection and occasional maintenance, in accordance with BS9990. Fire hydrants should be inspected and tested once per year, to ensure the water pressure and flow rate are adequate, while the results of the test should be clearly recorded.

Dry & Wet Risers

Dry risers are a system of valves and pipework which enables the fire service to pump water on to specific floors of multi story buildings. A wet riser is a system of valves and pipework which are kept permanently charged with water. These should be visually inspected every six months and serviced and pressure tested annually.

Fire Hose Reels

Servicing of fire hose reels is governed by BS-EN-671/3, requiring a flow rate and the a pressure test to be conducted during the service, and recorded on a service label attached to the reel. In addition, the hose itself must be pressure tested every five years.

Lithium-ion Batteries Fire Suppression

Lithium-ion batteries are highly susceptible to fire due to their high energy density and potential for thermal runaway. In the event of a battery fire, it is crucial to have effective fire blocking measures in place to prevent the flames from spreading. These measures can include flame retardant materials, thermal barriers and chemical suppressants. Fire blocking is essential for the safe operation of lithium-ion batteries, particularly in applications such as electric vehicles and portable electronics. Manufacturers must take strict measures to ensure their batteries can withstand extreme conditions and prevent fires from occurring. At FireRite we work using AF-X Fireblocker an environmentally friendly fire extinguishing system for the modern-day issues that are faced.
