Similar requirements apply in Scotland under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005, and in Northern Ireland under the Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006.
The fire safety consultancy team at Firerite is made up of highly experienced and skilled individuals who are encouraged and committed to CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

All members of the team each have over 30 years’ experience in the fire industry including extensive regulatory and enforcement roles with the Fire authority in UK and are qualified over and above what is required by our third-party certification body and UK National Occupational Standards. This will be used as the basis for discussions with the Approval Authorities to gain their approval of the strategy and meet the requirements of regulation 38 under the Building Regulations for England and Wales to provide fire safety information to the 'responsible person' at the completion of a project, or where the building or extension is first occupied.

Evacuation Strategies

Fire Compartmentation Survey

Intended to assess the suitability and sufficiency of fire compartmentation within a building with consideration to the designated fire evacuation strategy.

Premises are assessed in line with the requirements of Approved Document B of the Building Regulations together with HMG Fire Safety Guidance Documents, no intrusive investigations or destructive testing is carried out as part of this survey.

Fire Policy Development & Audit

The effective management of fire safety in any organisation requires the board, partners or equivalent controlling body to clearly set out the fire safety priorities and objectives for the organisation. This is achieved by the preparation and issue of a fire safety policy.

There is an important distinction between the strategic fire safety policy that sets out clear objectives and instructions for the management team to fulfil, and the fire safety procedures that are prepared which detail the processes by which the organisation delivers the fire safety outcomes to meet the objectives of the fire safety policy and subsequently ensure compliance with current Legislation.

FireRite can deliver audit and development of fire safety policies and procedures bespoke to your organisation.

Fire Signage Survey

Fire safety signs are an essential element of fire protection to help you ensure staff and visitors know what to do in the event of an emergency. Our surveyors have many years’ experience and are fully trained in dealing with fire safety signs and the relevant regulations and standards surrounding this area and help ensure you comply with current legislation.
